Signs Your Gutters Need Immediate Cleaning

Overflowing water, sagging gutters, and plant growth are red flags. Here's what to look for and when to call a professional.

Gutter Cleaning·

Clogged gutters rarely fail quietly. Long before a section pulls away from the fascia, your home is giving you warnings. Learning to spot them early saves thousands in repairs.

Watch for water sheeting over the front of the gutter during rain, dark vertical streaks on the exterior of the channel, pooling water around the foundation, and visible sagging between hangers. Birds nesting in the run or seedlings growing out of the top are late-stage signs — the debris has already turned into soil.

Inside the home, look for damp spots on ceilings near the exterior walls, peeling paint under eaves, and unexplained basement or crawlspace moisture. These usually trace back to a gutter or downspout that stopped draining months ago.

If you notice any of these, book a cleaning before the next storm. A single overflow event can damage siding, soffits, and landscaping in a single afternoon.
